Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, Sean attended Columbia University’s Film program in New York City, where he graduated with an MFA in Film Directing.
His thesis film, BRITISH BY THE GRACE OF GOD, premiered at Locarno Film Festival and went on to win international awards including ‘Special Mention’ at Zagreb International Film Festival and ‘Best Film’ at the Meeting Point section of Valladolid - Seminci, in Spain. It was also selected as a BFI NETWORK Pick of the Month. His next short film KINGDOM COME was supported by Screen Scotland and the BFI NETWORK, premiering at the Venice Film Festival in 2019.
As well as writing and directing his own work, he has also co-written and produced many films that have been screened internationally, including LOSTFOUND, which played at Sundance in 2017.
Sean is a graduate of the BBC, BFI, and Creative England backed iFeatures program, where he developed his first feature script.
