Maxine is best known for leading high profile TV dramas such as BLACK MIRROR: METALHEAD (Netflix), THREE GIRLS (BBC), SILK (BBC), THE VILLAGE (BBC) and SHAMELESS (Channel 4). Maxine took the title role in HAMLET at the Manchester Royal Exchange in a critically acclaimed “radical reimagining” of William Shakespeare's play, returning to play Blanche in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE and Winnie in Samuel Beckett’s HAPPY DAYS in equally lauded productions. Recent film credits include Oscar nominated THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING and independent British feature FUNNY COW which earned her a BIFA nomination for Best Actress . She will next be seen in Mike Leigh’s upcoming period drama PETERLOO which premiered at this years Venice Film Festival, independent British feature GWEN which premiered at TIFF and Hulu/Channel 4 comedy THE BISEXUAL opposite Desiree Akhavan. Maxine will next be seen in the lead role of ANNE (ITV), which follows the true story of Anne Williams, a mother seeking justice after the Hillsborough tragedy.
