Born in Johannesburg and presently resident in London, Jessica's work so far has been heavily influenced by contemporary South Africa and it's struggle towards a working democracy. Her most recent play, a monologue which she performed herself, WORK BITCH, recently premiered at the Vaults Festival to rave reviews. She won their Show of the Week award and is currently adapting it into a pilot for a TV series, along with a new play called THE SHOP.
Her debut play KLIPPIES, directed by Chelsea Walker, received outstanding reviews in its four week run in 2015 at the Southwark Playhouse. She was on attachment to the National Theatre Studio in 2017 and she was commissioned by the Southwark Playhouse to adapt Eiko Kadoio's KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE for their 2016 Christmas show, which was directed by Kate Hewitt and received a second run in summer 2017. Jessica was on the Royal Court's Young Writers Programme in 2013 and the Bush Theatre Emerging Writers Group in 2016/2017 has been nominated for an Offie for Most Promising Playwright.
