Harry Wootliff is a writer and director who is currently gearing up to direct her second feature film TRUE THINGS (The Bureau/Riff Raff Films), an adaptation of Deborah Kay Davies’ book which BBC Films/BFI are financing and Ruth Wilson and Tom Burke are starring in. Her first feature film ONLY YOU (starring Laia Costa and Josh O’Connor) premiered at the 2018 London Film Festival in the First Feature Competition category and was released in cinemas in summer 2019 to rave reviews including a coveted 5 star review from Mark Kermode. For ONLY YOU she won the BIFA award for Best Debut Director and was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut.
Harry directed the opening block of the six-part television series DEEP WATER (ITV/Kudos) and is currently developing an adaptation of THE DOLL FACTORY with Buccaneer which she will write and direct.
Harry's debut short film NITS was BAFTA nominated and selected for Cannes Director's Fortnight. Her second short TRIP premiered at Berlin Film Festival and won Best Short Bradford and was screened at 30 festivals worldwide. Harry was named The Observer’s Rising Star for Film for 2
