Charlene White is a journalist and broadcaster for ITV News. She regular presents lunchtime and Evening News, as well as ITV News London. She's also the first black woman to ever present ITV News At Ten and has previously worked across the BBC as a broadcaster and senior journalist at stations including BBC News Channel, BBC Five Live, and BBC Radio 1. At BBC Radio 1 she interviewed an array of politicians such as Tony Blair, and covered foreign stories such as protests and riots in Paris due to the poor accommodation that immigrants are housed in. She’s also interviewed high profile music artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Beyonce. During her time at the BBC she also had her own late night radio show on BBC London entitled “Through The Night, With Charlene White” – with live music, sport, chat, and gameshows (and the occasional cocktail making class!) Which saw a jump in RAJAR figures during her time in the slot. In her early 20s Charlene moved to Manhattan and worked as a features writer for the New York Post, writing several pieces including tongue-in-cheek double page spreads – and articles on women in sport. Charlene has worked as a mentor for 15 years: volunteering at various schools, pupil referral units, and social enterprises. She’s also a Patron for various charities including Bowel Cancer UK.
