Afua Hirsch is a writer, barrister, and former social affairs editor at Sky News. She still appears on Sky News show The Pledge, debating and presenting documentaries on other networks including CNN and the BBC. She is a former correspondent for The Guardian, where she is now a regular columnist. Afua is the Wallis Annenberg Chair of Journalism at the University of Southern California, and a judge for the Man Booker Prize 2019. Her bestselling book Brit(ish): On Race, Identity and Belonging was published in 2018 by Jonathan Cape, and is the winner of the Royal Society of Literature Jerwood Prize.
