Matthew’s performance in AND WHEN DID YOU LAST SEE YOUR FATHER? gained him nominations for both a British Independent Film Award and an Evening Standard British Film Award as Most Promising Newcomer and was hailed as A Star of Tomorrow by Screen International. Matthew’s subsequent film work includes Hideo Nakata’s CHATROOM, Lone Scherfig’s AN EDUCATION, and ONE DAY, and Michael Winterbottom’s THE LOOK OF LOVE. His television credits include ROGUE opposite Thandie Newton and LABYRINTH produced by Ridley Scott. Matthew starred in THE RIOT CLUB directed by Lone Sherfig, THE IMITATION GAME, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley and Roland Joffe’s SINGULARITY. Matthew also starred SKYLIGHT directed by Stephen Daldry, he received a Tony nomination for his performance. Matthew can next be seen in JOHNNY ENGLISH 3 and also playing the lead opposite Karen Gillan in her debut film as a writer/director; THE PARTY’S JUST BEGINNING. He is currently playing Edmund Tyrone in LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT opposite Lesley Manville & Jeremy Irons in the West End before it transfers to New York & LA.
