CINEMA
FEATURE DOCUMENTARY
An American Martyr (2005-2006) Produced by Sandra
Jordan (Ireland), Azmi Keshawi (Gaza), Rodrigo
Vazquez (Argentina) with funding from the Sundance
Institute (USA).
A 90-minute film that begins with Rachel Corrie
the US peace activist who died in Gaza and the
Corrie parents' visit to the families Rachel was
trying to protect. The focus shifts to the Palestinian
families themselves, followed over a two-year
period, the demolitions of their houses and what
has happened to them since. The film also follows
the work of American Jewish peace activist Lora
Gordon and Palestinian peace activist Fida Qishta
who continued to work with the same families after
Rachel's death. A long-term project, to be screened
in 2007.
